It wasn't that long ago - that in

1990 - Pen-based personal computers were introduced

1982 - The first notebook personal computer was developed

1981 - The first DOS operating system was introduced by IBM

1975 - The first personal computer, the Altair 8800, was introduced as a kit in
the United States and had 256 bytes of memory

1971 - The first pocket calculator was introduced by Texas Instruments (it could
only do simple calculations)

How About This:

1876 - William Thomson (Lord Kelvin) showed that machines can be
programmed to perform mathematical calculations!

WHEW - Now that - was a Looong time ago! Who would've thought?
